FIELD: power engineering.
SUBSTANCE: group of inventions relates to power machines and may find application in transport and heat power engineering. In a system of fuel and air mixture ignition, comprising a spark plug with central and side electrodes and an insulator, a source of energy connected by low-voltage wires to a high-voltage unit, an ignition distributor, the outlet from which by a high-voltage wire is connected to the upper part of the central electrode, inside the insulator the additional electrode stretches, being electrically connected, via an electroconductive bushing with a central electrode in its lower part, connected by a wire with a source of energy via a switch and a time relay. Also a spark plug and a method of ignition are proposed.
EFFECT: increased efficiency of a spark discharge for reduction of fuel consumption and emission of hazardous substances and increased reliability of ignition.
