FIELD: packaging industry.

SUBSTANCE: container (1) for transportation and/or storage of the food product comprises side walls and a bottom made of EPS (expanded polystyrene) and a cover (5). The upper edges of the side walls of the container comprise a horizontal recess (2) providing a bearing surface for the adhesive. The cover (5) is formed by attaching directly to the upper edge of the side walls of the container to plastic film forming the cover, by reactivation of the adhesive by heating it at a temperature below the temperature, at which the EPS is subjected to deformation and/or melting.

EFFECT: container is securely closed and has a smaller external volume while maintaining the internal volume, which enables to reduce the transportation costs.
