FIELD: physics, radio.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to microwave engineering, specifically to linear leaky wave antennae based on a filled circular waveguide and arrays made therefrom, and can be used in radio systems, including air traffic control systems, communication, radar, radio navigation, based on both fixed and mobile objects, including aircraft. The leaky wave antenna comprises a circular, dielectric-filled waveguide with a longitudinal slit, symmetrically narrowing from the centre to the edges, an absorbing load placed directly at the shorted end of the waveguide, annular open electrode which are thin compared to the working wavelength, placed inside the waveguide equidistant therefrom and separated therefrom by a dielectric film; the cut of each annular open electrode is located in the region where the longitudinal slit is located. The annular open electrodes are connected by power buses, which are thin compared to the working wavelength and are insulated from the waveguide, to an external dc voltage source. The dielectric filling the waveguide is a material having a ferroelectric effect, which changes permittivity under the effect of the applied voltage.
EFFECT: electronic control of the peak of the beam pattern of a leaky wave antenna based on a circular waveguide with a longitudinal slit.
