FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: filter element in the form of a body of revolution is made of coiled wire or sections of a coil stretched to a pitch which is equal to the diameter of the coil, wound on a process centre rod with intersection of about 90° in adjacent layers to form a spherical or barrel-shaped or cylindrical workpiece which is subjected to cold pressing. The planes of the basic mass of the turns of coils in the body of the element are at a tangent to a cone with an axis which coincides with the axis of rotation of the filter element and the apex angle of the cone equal to 60-90°. This mass of turns is approximately uniformly distributed in the body of the element and the filter element itself can have the following structures: with flat ends, with one flat end and one conical end, in the form of an internal or external truncated cone, with conical ends. The filter element is made of a continuous rectangular strip formed from two layers of a mesh grid or a pre-tensioned mesh grid, where in each pair of coils, one coil is compressed and other is stretched with the same force and rolled on the process centre rod such that the beginning and end of the strip are located in adjacent radial sections and each radial section has the same number of layers of the strip. One layer of the strip is made of a mesh weaved from coils with a right-hand lay stretched to a pitch equal to the diameter of the coil and other layer is made of a mesh weaved from the same coils with a left-hand lay.
