FIELD: measurement equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to measurement equipment, represents an flow meter, as well as a system and a method for measurement of flow velocity and is intended to be used in nuclear reactors. The device includes an excitation element, in which magnets are located with a gap from each other along the external peripheral surface of the flow channel, through which liquid metal flows, and a magnetic field is formed in the direction perpendicular to the external peripheral surface of the flow channel. Between magnets of the excitation element there arranged is an electrode for measurement of voltage generated when liquid metal crosses the magnetic field. The invention provides for a device for supply of a pulse electrical excitation current to the excitation element to suppress distribution of the flow velocity in the direction along the external periphery of the channel, even at low velocity of liquid metal flow.
EFFECT: improvement of measurement accuracy of liquid flow velocity.
