FIELD: chemistry.

SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a sulphur-containing polymer of formula (I), a terminal-modified sulphur-containing polymer of formula (II), to a sealing compound, a sealed hole, as well as to using a sealant. The sulphur-containing polymer contains a reaction product of the following agents: (a) sulphur-containing diol, (b) polyol containing at least three hydroxyl groups per a polyol molecule, and (c) aldehyde and/or ketone. The terminal-modified sulphur-containing polymer contains a reaction product of the above sulphur-containing polymer of formula (I) and a compound containing a vinyl group, or a silyl group, or an epoxy group, or an isocyanate group, or an amino group, or a thiol group and a group reacting to the hydroxyl groups of the polymer of formula (I). The sealing compound contains the terminal-modified sulphur-containing polymer of formula (I) or the polymer of formula (II), and a hardening agent. The sealant containing the above compound is applicable for sealing the hole.

EFFECT: invention enables producing the polymer applicable as fuel and water resistant sealants with the improved tensile strength and elongation.
