FIELD: measurement equipment.

SUBSTANCE: method provides for calculation of number of vehicle axles before and after weighing of an unloaded vehicle in order to determine whether the unloaded vehicle is located correctly during weighing. For this purpose on the scales for the vehicle having a weighing zone for weighing of unloaded vehicles, which has a vehicle entrance edge and exit edge, there is the first counter of axles, which is used to calculate number of vehicle axles, which have fully gone beyond the edge of the entrance, before weighing of the unloaded vehicle, and the second counter of vehicle axles, which is used to calculate number of vehicle axles, which have gone beyond the exit edge of the vehicle, after weighing of the vehicle. At the same time the weight certificate is created to register data of calculation of vehicle axles in the vehicle weighing system for those cases when the vehicle is located correctly in the weighing zone, and when the vehicle is located incorrectly in the weighing zone.

EFFECT: increased accuracy of vehicle weighing.
