FIELD: machine building.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a locking differential. The differential comprises a casing and a differential mechanism including a pair of clutch elements which comprise the surface oriented inwards. Every surface is provided by a groove, the said grooves are distanced from each other. A pin is set in the grooves and is functionally coupled with the casing for rotation. The clutch elements can move along the axis in the casing so that they can be engaged with the relevant clutch elements which are joined by a pair of semiaxes. Every groove in the clutch elements determines the first specified curvature radius. The pin determines the second curvature radius, the first curvature radius of the groove is greater than the second curvature radius of the pin so that the contact between the pin and the groove provide for the creation of a line located along the axis of the said pin.
EFFECT: higher torque transfer without the increase of differential dimensions.
