SUBSTANCE: invention is related to energy. The gas burner contains a burner body (including a central cavity where at least one flare is represented by the central burner) and the assembly of a cooktop for slow fire food cooking designed so that to enable at least partial introduction into the central cavity and removal from it and including a cooktop section and a base section designed so that to enable support of the cooktop section and including a base plate having a hove made so that to enable passage of the central burner through it when the assembly of a cooktop for slow fire food cooking is introduced into the central cavity; the cooktop section is designed so that to be able to act as a barrier between at least one flare and the object placed over the bas burner.

EFFECT: invention allows the gas burner to operate in the regular burner mode ensuring a high intensity thermal range or in the mode of a burner for slow fire food preparation ensuring a low intensity thermal range.
