FIELD: engines and pumps.

SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in high pressure fuel pumps used for supply of fuel into internal combustion engines with compression ignition. The high pressure pump (1) designed first of all as a radial-and-piston or line piston pump and having a pump unit (13) and a power shaft (6) with the cam (9) which is functionally connected with the pump unit (13) is offered. The pump unit (13) has a support roller (25) which (35) is rolled by its surface along the working surface (10) of the cam (9). According to the invention the contact load ability on the surface (35) of the support roller (25) and contact load ability on the working surface (10) of the cam (9) are selected identical by value. Due to this at high-dynamic loading of the cam (9) and the support roller (25) during operation of the pump for both these details (9, 25) the critical pulsing load is formed which is equally critical for both details.
