FIELD: engines and pumps.
SUBSTANCE: invention can be used in high pressure fuel pumps (HPFP) used in fuel supply systems of internal combustion engines with compression ignition. HPFP (1) is offered which has a pump assembly (6) and a driving shaft (7) with at least one cam (10) which is functionally connected with the pump (6). The pump assembly (6) has (10) a bearing roller which rolls along a working surface (34) of the cam (31), and the bearing shoe (30) where the bearing roller (31) is installed. According to the invention on the bearing roller (31), and/or on the bearing shoe (30), and/or on the cam (10) at least one corrosion protective layer is applied.
EFFECT: prevention of occurrence of corrosion fatigue cracking which under load can result in near-surface microchipping of material of details of the high pressure pump and therefore to its failure.
