FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: synthesis is carried out by uniformly feeding, for 2-2.5 hours, 4% sodium styphnate solution into 15% lead nitrate solution, while keeping temperature of the reaction mixture not higher than 18°C and mixing until formation of a turbulent stream with Reynolds number Re of not less than 200000. The 4% sodium styphnate solution, having pH not lower than 12, is obtained by adding sodium hydroxide with 20% stoichiometric excess to a solution (suspension) of styphnic acid while mixing for 10-20 minutes at 20-25°C. Fixation of the gel-like state of the colloidal lead styphnate is carried out by heating to 40-50°C while mixing for 60 minutes.
EFFECT: obtaining colloidal gel-like lead styphnate as an end product, which retains its properties not only during the precipitation process, but during subsequent storage for not less than 6 months and use in the production of a wide range of primers.
