FIELD: transport.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to grippers. For handling of semi-cylinder container with holes made over its generatrix relative to holes centres it is placed on support with pins for article centring and releasing from rope slip-knots. Gripper is suspended from hoisting hook while gripper retaining and releasing slings are fastened to container journals. The latter are arranged on container sidewalls and provided with grooves accommodating spring-loading latches. Proposed method comprises container displacement and discharging the article from container by changing the sling tension positions with the help of fast-release pins or mechanisms of automatic sling release. Every said mechanism comprises pin with counterweight handle articulated with hydraulic cylinders. The latter are secured at crossbar side cheeks each being provided with cylindrical bore changing into the groove. Aforesaid pin can revolve in said bore and displace in said groove.

EFFECT: higher efficiency of container loading and centring, smooth unloading.
