FIELD: physics.
SUBSTANCE: device for magnetic attachment consists of: a ferromagnetic substrate, which can be a perforated sheet of ferromagnetic material or a set of parallel strips of ferromagnetic material; a light-emitting diode (LED) module, which is a printed-circuit board with LEDs soldered on the front surface and ferromagnetic elements mounted on the front or back surface of the printed-circuit board. The LED module is attached to a glass surface using a method which includes: gluing the ferromagnetic substrate to the glass surface; mounting the LED module on the substrate, the module being placed such that LEDs lie opposite openings in the substrate. The LED module is held on the transparent surface by magnetic attractive forces between the ferromagnetic elements of the LED module and the ferromagnetic substrate. Vertical movement of the module is blocked due to that the LEDs in the openings of the ferromagnetic substrate rest on the edge of the openings of the substrate, which prevents movement of the module.
EFFECT: enabling placement of LED screens and LED displays directly on a glass surface or transparent sheets made of other materials without additional fastening elements or a mounting frame; producing LED screens and LED displays with a simple design using as the bearing element thick glass or transparent sheets made of other transparent materials.
