SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a colour image forming apparatus which prevents formation of colour moire. Disclosed is a colour image forming element with an array of colour filters, which includes periodically arranged RGB filters corresponding to RGB colours and including sections, where two or more G filters are used, which make the highest contribution in generating brightness signals, adjacent to each other in the horizontal, vertical and tilted (NE, NW) directions (in four directions). The direction among four directions which is the brightness correlation direction is determined with minimum pixel intervals based on pixel values of G pixels adjacent to each other in the directions. The pixel value of a pixel of another colour in a defined correlation direction is used to calculate the pixel value another colour in the pixel position of the target pixel for the de-pixelation processing, allocated from the pixelated image. The pixel value of the pixel of the other colour is therefore accurately estimated.
EFFECT: preventing generation of false colour of a high-frequency section through simple image processing.
