SUBSTANCE: invention relates to image processing device and method for correction of defective pixel. Said technical result is achieved by that first region of image is generated from a plurality of pixels, existing in line of interest, which is specified so as pass through pixel corresponding to target pixel correction. Plurality of second areas is generated, wherein each second area is based on positions of plurality of pixels, existing in at least one of support lines, which are set so as not to pass through target pixel correction. Pixel value corresponding to a target pixel correction is corrected using a pixel value in each of at least one of support lines, wherein value is determined based on values of correlation between corresponding second areas and first area.
EFFECT: providing proper correction of defective pixel, even when object having a defective pixel, does not have a specific angle.
