FIELD: physics, video.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to representation of digital images including video and TV info and can be used in digital stereoscopic TV systems. Proposed method comprises representation of the left and right frames of stereoscopic image as a single image including both frames in compliance with predefined 3D Tile Format. In compliance with proposed method, left frame L is located at the image top left section. Right frame R is divided into three parts to locate the first part at top right image part while second and third parts are located at bottom left part. Note here that info D on differences between frames L and R is additionally placed to bottom right section of the image and visualised as the image so that every image point brightness and colour indicates the distance between points of appropriate images in frames R and L.
EFFECT: use of one video flow for display at 2D and 3D visualisation devices.
