FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: apparatus for moulding glass articles comprises a heating chamber, a hearth with counterweights, a mechanism for raising and lowering the hearth connected to the hearth by a rod. A mould is mounted on the hearth. The mould is mounted in a metal box having a configuration of sidewalls which corresponds to the mould, and the height of the sidewalls of the box is greater than that of the mould by 40-60 mm.
EFFECT: faster moulding and lower power consumption.
