FIELD: test equipment.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to fibre-optical communication technology and can be used for testing of resistance of optical cable (OC) intended for laying in the protective polymeric pipeline (PPP), to effect of freezing water in PPP. The offered method of tests of OC for resistance to effect of the freezing water is featured by that for tests the damping polymeric tube is used additionally which is laid in a steel pipe together with PPP with OC sample. PPP and a steel pipe are filled with the distilled water. Meanwhile the OC sample in PPP filled with water is tested, and the load on PPP at water freezing in the steel pipe is regulated by means of change of gage pressure in the damping polymeric tube.
EFFECT: possibility of OC load simulation in a freezing-through soil in the conditions close to conditions of OC laying in PPP in various categories of the freezing-through soil.
