METHOD AND DEVICE FOR TREATING PANCREATIC PSEUDOCYSTS Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC A61B17/11

Abstract RU 2557697 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: cystodigestive anastomosis is formed with using a device made of titanium nickelide branch curved so as to form branches. The device is cooled down in a cooling agent; the branch loops are brought apart at an angle of 30-40° with respect to each other. The device is inserted with a clamp into cavities of the anastomosed organs. After the shape recovery is completed at a body temperature, the branch loops of the device take the initial closed shape. The organs are brought together by compressing the walls uniformly with the loops of the device. An anterior semi-circle of the anastomosis is sutured to enclose the pseudocyst wall and a gastric or intestinal seromuscularsubmucosal layer. The device is configured as three coaxial wire loops 2.5 mm thick. The upper loop ends with a thorn with a rounded end 12 mm long bent inside the structure. The device has a long oval form with inner size 29×8 mm and a loop-to-loop space of 10 mm.

EFFECT: more effective formation of the cyctodigestive anastomosis in treating pancreatic pseudocysts by reducing the risk of recurrences and complications caused by developing anastomositis, stricture formation and anastomotic leak.
