SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication engineering and can be used for communication between a primary station and a plurality of secondary stations in cellular telecommunication networks. A method for communication between a primary station and a plurality of secondary stations includes the primary station configuring the secondary station to search, on a first channel, at least one of a plurality of search areas, having a first structure, wherein said plurality of search areas depends on an identifier of the secondary station, and said first structure consists of at least a first number of resource sets, wherein at least one resource set can be used to transmit a message to the secondary station. The primary station sets the characteristic of the first channel to a first value and changes the characteristic of the first channel to a second value upon detecting an event relating to throughput in search areas, wherein said characteristic is a number of orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbols.

EFFECT: larger amount of free resources which can be used to transmit control information.
