SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a terminal device and a communication method, and it is: a processing unit at a level of radio resource control, made with the possibility of configuration of a number of PDCCH candidates configurated based on signaling of radio resource control (RRC signaling) in a specifically allocated control resource set, a receiver made with the possibility of tracking of a set of PDCCH candidates in the specifically allocated control resource set, and a decoding unit made with the possibility of decoding of PDCCH candidates. The first number of PDCCH candidates is tracked in the specifically allocated control resource set for a period of time, during which a general control resource set is not configured, the second number of PDCCH candidates is tracked in the allocated control resource set for a period of time, during which the general control resource set is configured, and the third number of PDCCH candidates is tracked in the general control resource set. The sum of the second number and the third number is equal to the first number.

EFFECT: due to the effective use of computing power of a terminal device for blind detection of PDCCH in a subframe, in which a general control resource set is absent, and increase in the number of PDCCH candidates in a specifically allocated control resource set, it is possible to increase the dispatching flexibility.
