FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: child's age and height are pre-determined. The measured child's height is compared to an average height of children of the same age, and a child's height coefficient (l) is derived from the ratio l = 1±c, wherein 1 is the average height coefficient, c = 0.1 units per every 10% of height reduction (-) or increase (+). That is followed by calculating an inflated volume (V) of air, which is supposed to be inflated into an intestinal lumen on the basis of the ratio: V = K·m·l, wherein K = 50-100 cm3/kg, m is the child's body weight, l is the child's height coefficient. Then air is inflated into the intestinal lumen with the inflated volume of air held for 1 to 3 minutes. The intraintestinal pressure is further measured.

EFFECT: reliable diagnosis of the pathology in the children by pre-measuring the volume of air which is supposed to be inflated into the intestinal lumen.
