METHOD FOR ASSESSING COMPLIANCE OF VOLUME OF THYROID GLAND WITH NORM OR DEVIATION THEREFROM IN 4 TO 15 YEAR OLD CHILDREN WITH AVERAGE HEIGHT BY MEANS OF ULTRASONIC DIAGNOSTICS Russian patent published in 2021 - IPC A61B5/103 A61B8/00

Abstract RU 2756368 C1

FIELD: medicine.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to medicine, namely to ultrasonic diagnostics in pediatrics and endocrinology, and can be used in assessing the compliance of the volume of the thyroid gland with the norm or deviation therefrom in 4 to 15 year old children with an average height. For this purpose, the volume of the thyroid gland, the height of the child are determined during ultrasonic examination (ultrasonography), and the diagnostic coefficient of the ratio of the volume of the thyroid gland to the height is established by the formula VHC=Vtg /H, wherein VHC is the diagnostic coefficient of the volume of the to the height, cm3/cm; Vtg is the volume of the thyroid gland, cm3 (ml); H is the height, cm. If the value of VHC for girls and boys aged 4 lies in the range of 0.014 to 0.025 cm3/cm, aged 5 in the range of 0.015 to 0.028 cm3/cm; aged 6 in the range of 0.015 to 0.030 cm3/cm; aged 7 in the range of 0.016 to 0.031 cm3/cm; for girls aged 8 in the range of 0.017 to 0.040 cm3/cm and boys aged 8 in the range of 0.020 to 0.034 cm3/cm; for girls aged 9 in the range of 0.019 to 0.044 cm3/cm and boys aged 9 in the range of 0.017 to 0.041 cm3/cm; for girls aged 10 in the range of 0.020 to 0.050 cm3/cm and boys aged 10 in the range of 0.019 to 0.045 cm3/cm; for girls aged 11 in the range of 0.022 to 0.052 cm3/cm and boys aged 11 in the range of 0.022 to 0.046 cm3/cm; for girls aged 12 in the range of 0.025 to 0.058 cm3/cm and boys aged 12 in the range of 0.023 to 0.055 cm3/cm; for girls and boys aged 13 in the range of 0.025 to 0.057 cm3/cm; for girls aged 14 in the range of 0.030 to 0.061 cm3/cm and boys aged 14 in the range of 0.028 to 0.059 cm3/cm; for girls aged 15 in the range of 0.031 to 0.068 cm3/cm and boys aged 15 in the range of 0.030 to 0.057 cm3/cm, compliance of the volume of the TG of the child with an average height with the norm is estimated. If the values are lower than the lower limit, the conclusion is made about the presence of hypoplasia of the TG in the child. If the values are higher than the upper limit, the conclusion is made about the presence of hyperplasia of the TG in the child.

EFFECT: method provides an informative, widely accessible and accurate method for ultrasound assessment of the compliance of the size of the thyroid gland with the norm or deviation therefrom in children with an average height aged 4 to 15 by means of using a new quantitative indicator - a diagnostic coefficient accounting for the ratio of the volume of the thyroid gland to the height of the child.
