SUBSTANCE: invention relates to veterinary, namely to methods of preventing or treatment of sarcopenia or muscle atrophy in companion animal, which includes introduction to animal of preventing or treating sarcopenia one or more isoflavones, selected from the group, consisting of biochanin A, daidzein, daidcin, glycitein, formononetin, equelle, genistein, irilone, luteone, prunetin, pratensein and glycitin. Methods include feeding companion animals with isoflavons preferably in amount approximately from 0.001 to 10 g/kg/day.
EFFECT: application of invention will make it possible to prevent or treat sarcopenia or muscle atrophy in companion animals.
