The composition for male mammals containing one or more isoflavons or metabolids thereof, its daily dose equal to approximately 0.001 -50 g per kg of the animal body weight, is intended for a pet animal that has undergone castration, is currently experiencing a post-andropause period, has a reduced concentration of circulating estradiol, displays reduced testosterone to estradiol conversion ability or displays reduced aromatase activity as compared to a healthy control animal of the same species or breed that does not suffer from obesity. The method for reduction of fat buildup with male mammals envisages feeding the composition to animals.
