FIELD: mining.
SUBSTANCE: for determination of volume of the well drilled in gas-bearing rock masses, the wellhead with gas inflows is closed for the period of increase of excessive pressure, then a part of gas is bypassed into atmosphere at a constant flow rate. The well volume is determined by the formula which includes the measured parameters: atmospheric pressure, pressure in the well before beginning of gas bypass, pressure in the well at the time of the beginning and the end of gas bypass, flow rate of bypassed gas, time between pressure measurements and gas bypass duration. Besides, at measurement of volume of the marginal well it is injected by air, the wellhead is closed for the period of drop of excessive pressure and then a part of air is bypassed into atmosphere. The method of the well volume determination is characterised by simplicity of implementation and provides high precision of measurements of volume of wells that is especially important in conditions of underground mining operations with quality control of degassing works for resolution of problems of safety of mining operations.
