FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention refers to a volatile oil composition consisting of a mixture of linear paraffin oils and optionally one non-volatile oil. It also refers to a cosmetic composition containing the above oil composition, and to cosmetic applications of the above cosmetic composition, especially for make-up and/or skin, lip, eyelash and/or nail care. The oil composition consists of (a) from 50 to 100 wt % of a mixture of linear paraffin oils and (b) from 0 to 50 wt % of at least one non-volatile oil. The mixture of linear paraffin oils consists of (i) 70-99 wt % of at least one linear paraffin oil specified in paraffin oils C8, C10, C12 and a mixtures thereof and (ii) 1-30 wt % of at least one linear paraffin oil C14-C24.
EFFECT: composition has good physical-chemical and sensory characteristics and can replace volatile silicones partially or completely traditionally used in cosmetic compositions.
