SUBSTANCE: invention relates to banknote processing. When banknotes kept in a temporary storage section (22) are given, on the basis of results of the differentiation performed by the differentiating section (21) at the previous stage where banknotes are remained in the temporary storage section (22) the verification is performed, whether the banknotes kept in the temporary storage section (22) are normal banknotes, or banknotes to be stored separately from normal banknotes, respectively, and the banknotes differentiated as banknotes to be stored separately from normal banknotes, are directly sent and stored from the temporary storage section (22) to the container (23) for rejected banknote, without passing through the differentiating section (21). Therefore, in comparison with the case of transfer of banknotes along the route which mandatorily passes through the differentiating section, it becomes possible to reduce the transfer distance from the temporary storage section (22) to the storage place that can minimize the frequency of failures because of banknotes to be stored separately from normal banknotes.

EFFECT: technical result consists in reduction of frequency of failures.
