SUBSTANCE: method is implemented by the initiation of operation in an intermittent reception mode (DRX) by means of user equipment (UE). UE equipment controls applications operating in UE equipment for the identification of a triggering non-activity event associated with the application(s). UE equipment includes a level of interaction of applications with an application information processing radio channel, including the triggering non-activity event, to be used by a radio level. The radio level of UE equipment takes a decision on the initiation of transition to DRX mode in compliance with information of the applications, including the triggering non-activity event represented by the application interaction level, and information on characteristics of the device.

EFFECT: initiation of operation in an intermittent reception mode to an optimum point of time using optimum parameters.
