FIELD: radio engineering and communications.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to communication with a mobile network of a portable device connected to a user device. To this end, the user device sends non-access layer messages to the mobile communication network to perform identification and authentication of the portable device in the mobile communication network and controls data transmission by mobile communication network during paging events, wherein paging events for paging messages for the wearable device are time-synchronized with paging events for paging messages destined for the user device.

EFFECT: technical result is providing carriers with possibility of identification and authentication by an operator network without the need to implement them in the form of full-functional mobile cellular communication devices owing to repeated use of the cellular radio interface of the cellular telephone (UE) connected to the portable device, using only those levels which are responsible for authentication and service negotiation (NAS layer) in several instances, separately for UE and for portable device.
