SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless transmission systems. Disclosed are versions of user equipment (UE) and a method for discontinuous reception mode (DRX) in wireless data transmission. In some of said versions, UE may operate to determine value for DRX parameter based at least in part on information associated with application operating in UE. UE may send a message to an evolved node-B (eNB). Message may include at least one value for DRX parameter and information associated with application. eNB can determine values for parameters of DRX which UE may use in DRX mode.

EFFECT: technical result consists in improvement of efficiency of energy use.
