FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: combined induction-arc plasma generator is equipped additionally with four movable electrodes mounted in pairs in opposite sections of a gas-discharge chamber. Ignition of an induction discharge is made at atmospheric pressure by the simultaneous delivery of an orifice gas and voltage to the primary winding and electrodes. Upon ignition of the induction discharge one of the arc discharges is cutoff while the second is used for plasma chemical reactions. An additional arc discharge allows local increase in the electric field intensity and energy deposition up to the required level thus ensuring the wide range of plasma chemical processes that demand high power and increased intensity of the electric field in the area of the plasma chemical reactions.
EFFECT: higher energy efficiency.
