METHOD FOR CONSTRUCTING SLUDGE STORAGE PIT FOR WELL CUTTINGS AT OIL AND GAS DEPOSITS (VERSIONS) Russian patent published in 2015 - IPC E21B21/01 

FIELD: oil and gas industry.

SUBSTANCE: group of inventions is related to the sphere of environment protection and may be used for construction of well bores to store well cuttings. The method includes construction of a basin for sludge storage pit, arrangement of impervious screen at the basin bottom and sides. Before construction of the basin, along its perimeter in recess of 1.0-5.0 m from the edge a narrow trench is made with depth corresponding to height of the basin sides. In the trench protective structure is assembled hermetically from modular panels protruding over the basin sides per 0.1-0.2 m, then the trench is filled evenly with soil used for construction of the sludge storage pit. Upon arrangement of the screen of waterproof material and placement of well cuttings in it as solid phase of bore mud and/or neutralized drill cuttings they are covered with insulating layer of mineral ground up to the level not exceeding 0.3-0.4 m from the basin edge, then they are covered with waterproof layer. Ends of the both waterproof layers are wound up the protruding edge of the supporting structure and deepened per 0.3-0.5 m, thereafter the layer of mineral ground is laid and then recultivating layer of ground with thickness of 0.3-0.4 m. Synthetic material is used for waterproof layer.

EFFECT: increased safety for the environment.
