SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a ventilation element for sole for a footwear item, which comprises a side wall having a lateral extension in which a channel structure is formed, located within the side wall and comprising a plurality of channels, at least some of which comprise ports for discharge of air and moisture; and at least one of the channels is a peripheral channel which intersects a plurality of channels and lies at the periphery or circumference of the said ventilation element of the sole, but within the side wall; and the channels and the side wall form functional poles; and the ventilation element of the sole has the ratio of the upper surface area of the functional poles to the area of the upper surface of the channels, which is from 0.5 to 5, a plurality of channels is transverse channels, the peripheral channel lies within the lateral ends of the transverse channels, and the ports for discharge of air and moisture have a greater depth than the other parts of the channel, and/or extended as compared with other parts of the channel.
