FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: methane partial oxidation catalyst is a nickel-aluminium spinel. Said spinel has the general chemical formula (Ni1-x(M2O3)x)y·γ-Al2O3, where M is Cr, Mn or Fe, 0.01≤x≤0.99, 0.01≤y≤1. The invention also relates to a method of producing said catalyst.
EFFECT: catalyst enables to achieve high methane conversion along with high CO and H2 selectivity and absence of soot formation.
