FIELD: catalysts and catalytic production processes. SUBSTANCE: catalyst for production of synthesis gas by selective oxidation of methane with oxygen in reaction mixture and excessive methane based on oxide with structure - perovskit containing rare-earth and transition elements. Catalyst is distinguished by the fact that it additionally contains α-Al2O3 and includes the following components, wt.%: perovskit ABOx, 5-40; carrier of α-Al2O3, 60-95; where A is rare-earth element; B is transition element including 3d elements of 4th period of the Periodic table; x is degree of oxidation of A and B and their stoichiometric ration.
