FIELD: ecology.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to field of environment protection, namely to purification of gas emissions of enterprises of non-ferrous industry from sulfur dioxide with obtaining of elemental sulphur. Described is catalyst of gas emissions purification from sulfur dioxide in process of sulfur dioxide restoring to elemental sulfur by mixture of monoxide of carbon and hydrogen, which contains oxides of transition metals and carrier, as oxide it contains oxide of Cu1-xMxCr2O4 with structure of spinel in amount 5-35 wt %, where: M is transition metal, selected from group: Fe, Co, Ni, x=0-0.5; and as carrier - aluminium oxide, including one modified by addition of cerium oxide; with following component ratio, wt %: Cr 3-12, Cu 0.1-5.0; metal of transition group 0.01- 2.50, cerium 1-15, aluminium oxide - the remaining part. Described are three versions of claimed catalyst preparation and its application in process of gas emissions purification.

EFFECT: process takes place at temperature 400-600°C, ensures suphur output over 80%.
