FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of obtaining a catalyst for the decomposition of alkylaromatic hydroperoxides in a continuous mode by mixing a sulphonating reagent with phenol at a temperature of 42-56°C and exposure of the obtained reaction mixture for not more than 10 min. Then, the temperature of the obtained reaction mixture is reduced by 10-40°C and the mixture is exposed at the said temperature before supply into a reactor for 0.5-100 hours.
EFFECT: obtaining the catalyst for the decomposition of alkylaromatic hydroperoxides, possessing high activity, increase of the target product quality.
