FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: fibre has a surface with comb-like formations in the form of corrugations having a trapezoidal cross-section along the axis of the fibre with a height of up to 1.0 mcm with rounded vertices, which are arranged in an orderly manner on the surface of the fibre and are mated in the bases by their edges on circles with a radius of curvature of not more than 50 nm. The high-modulus carbon fibre is obtained by surface modification, which includes changing the topography and specific surface of fibres, subjecting to irradiation with continuous transfer with ions of inert gases.
EFFECT: improved properties of the fibre.
