FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to production electrical carbon articles. Powder composition is prepared by mixing of binder with graphite filler. Powder composition is subjected to hot pressing and stepwise heat treatment with heating and holding at final temperature. Graphite filler features mean particle sizes of 100-110 mcm. Pressing is started in the mould preheated to 70-90°C with powder composition at 45-50 MPa. Stepwise heat treatment is performed at the same mould at compaction pressure. Note here that, first, fast heating is performed to 110-120°C at the rate of 1.9-2°C/min. Then, slow heating is executed to 160-170°C at the rate of 1.4-1.5°C/min. Now, heating is performed to 180-200°C at the rate of 1.6-1.8°C/min and holding at final temperature is performed under pressure during 1÷2 minutes.
EFFECT: higher density and electric conductivity.
