FIELD: electricity.
SUBSTANCE: invention is used in electrical engineering. The overvoltage protection device (OPD) has an input (IN) and an output (OUT). The device includes the primary current path (CP1) with earth-fault protection and the secondary current path (CP2) between the input (IN) and the output (OUT), and the help system (H) for supply of signals or powering the devices for improvement of characteristics of ignition is located in the secondary current path (CP2). Besides, the device comprises the fuse (3, 7) in the fuse box with earth-fault protection (B) which is located in the secondary current path (CP2). The fuse box (B) with earth-fault protection on one side of the secondary current path (CP2, 4a) contacts with the primary current path (CP1) with earth-fault protection on the basis of primary current path (CP1), and on other side of the secondary current path (CP2, 5) contacts in essence to earth-fault protection on the basis of the fuse (3, 7). The fuse box (B) also contacts with the discharge path (4b) with earth-fault protection which can conduct current along the current path (5) of the help system.
