FIELD: electrical engineering.
SUBSTANCE: overvoltage protection device contains at least one discharger (2) protection against overvoltage and thermally trip out switching device (3), connected in series with discharger (2). Said means form unified assembly, and thermal release is arranged in area of expected heating discharger (2) when reloading. According to invention, thermal release device is made in form of part-limiter, not under action of operating current or impact current, which releases opening of switching device (3) at thermal overload, wherein the switching device (3) has increased own quenching capacity.
EFFECT: technical result is creation of an extended continuous range self-defense device.
