FIELD: process engineering.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to sheets trimming by cutting for welding of sheet blanks and production of structural parts by cold forming. Sheet blanks are assembled to stack to trim the edges by honing in the stack. Note here that blanks are levelled in the stack by mechanical vibration while prior to honing said edges are processed by cryogenic process. Stack honing depth for 1 m of processing length is selected subject to empiric relationship: y = 0.58·e0.06·N·t+0.014·N, where N is the number of cutting tool strokes, thou strokes, t is sheet depth, mm.
EFFECT: higher efficiency of trimming by honing owing to selection of optimum depth of honing.
