FIELD: medicine.
SUBSTANCE: scars are inspected with a thermovision camera. After a native infrared image is recorded, a regional alcohol test of the inspected facial area follows. A temperature field recovery behaviour is recorded for 7 minutes after a cold fluid is applied. A temperature difference of the scar tissue areas is derived by formula: ΔT=Tfinal-Tinitial, wherein ΔT is the temperature difference; Tfinal is the temperature by the 7th minute following the test recovery, and Tinitial is the pre-test initial temperature. If ΔT≤-0.9°C is observed by the 7th minute of the inspection, the scar tissues are considered to be suitable for the local skin grafting.
EFFECT: method enables planning the flap elevation patterns for the local skin grafting and avoiding short-term postoperative ischemic complications.
