FIELD: physics, navigation.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to a method of calibrating internal orientation elements of space-based survey equipment, which includes a multispectral channel and a monochromatic channel. The method includes preliminary calibration of the monochromatic channel; surveying the same region of the earth's surface with both the monochromatic channel and the multispectral channel; transforming the multispectral image into a monochromatic image; reducing the transformed image to the scale of the monochromatic image; further, determining offset and turning said images about each other; refining angles between axes of the autonomous orientation system of the spacecraft and axes of the multispectral channel based on the obtained offset and turning; determining the true angular position of the multispectral channel in an inertial coordinate system.
EFFECT: high accuracy of calibrating internal orientation elements of multispectral survey equipment of spacecraft during flight thereof on a near-earth orbit.
