FIELD: cosmonautics.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to space engineering and can be used in guidance of spacecraft (SC) equipment to the investigated object (IO). For guidance of the movable equipment SC to the IO, the position of the movable observation equipment relative to the window is set when observing the IO. Measured position of the centre of mass and orientation of the SC are used to determine and fix the boundaries of the observed area of the location of the IO from all given positions of the moved equipment relative to the window. Visible image is determined from a digital model of the observed region from given positions in the fixed boundaries of the observed region of the location of the IO. Duration of observation of the IO from each given position is established. Movable equipment is guided in manual mode to the IO from the position corresponding to the maximum duration of observation, aligning the axis of the moved equipment with the direction to the IO at the design moment.

EFFECT: high reliability and accuracy of manual guidance of movable equipment to investigated objects while simultaneously reducing crew time spent on surveying the investigated object.
