FIELD: chemistry.
SUBSTANCE: method of producing a 63Ni radionuclide includes making a nickel target rich in the 62Ni isotope from a composite material consisting of nanoparticles of nickel or compounds thereof, surrounded by a buffer in the form of a solid substance which is soluble in water or other solvents; irradiating the target in the neutron flux of a nuclear reactor; separating the nanoparticles of the target and the buffer; feeding the buffer for radiochemical treatment in order to separate the 63Ni radionuclide and returning nickel nanoparticles into the nuclear reactor as part of a new target.
EFFECT: high specific activity of the 63Ni radionuclide, simple process for production thereof and reduced amount of radioactive wastes.
