FIELD: manufacturing technology.
SUBSTANCE: invention relates to reactor technology of producing radionuclides and can be used for production of radionuclide molybdenum-99 (99Mo) high specific activity (without carrier), which is the basis of creation of radionuclide generators of technetium-99m (99mTc), which have found wide application in nuclear medicine for diagnostic purposes. Method of producing nanostructured target for radionuclide production 99Mo by radiation capture reaction 98Mo(n,γ) in form of a matrix made of a silicon or quartz microchannel plate with cavities and channels with characteristic dimensions in range of 50–100 mcm, on the surface of which a molybdenum oxide MoO3 nanolayer is applied, which thickness is less than recoil atom path length 99Mo in nanolayer substance, and buffer, made in form of gas mixture, including nitrogen N2 and sulfur hexafluoride SF6. Gaseous buffer is periodically or continuously removed from cavities and channels of matrix and directed for processing for extraction of radionuclide 99Mo from molybdenum hexafluoride 99MoF6.
EFFECT: invention simplifies method of producing radionuclide 99Mo by avoiding the radiochemical processing of the target after each irradiation thereof in the neutron flow of the reactor.
