FIELD: machine building.

SUBSTANCE: invention relates to the machine building and can be used in the devices connecting the rotating shaft, and at least one journal bearing, that can be both non-reversible, and reversible. Such devices can be both gas and steam turbines, compressors, centrifugal pumps etc. The method includes oil supply to the inserted parts and in tanks that are in the casing, assurance of the shaft rotation, movement interlock of each of inserted parts, in any direction of rotation, movement of each of inserted parts to the shaft surface, that interacts with the surface of each of the inserted parts, during the shaft rotation, assurance of oil flowing in both straight and reverse directions from the tanks or in the tanks located in the casing. Maximum distance of movement of each of the inserted parts in the direction towards the shaft surface is ensured not exceeding 0.002 D and at least 0.0008 D. Dynamic viscosity of oil is ensured within range from 4 mcPa s to 50 mcPa·s at speed of shaft rotation at least 500 rpm and maximum 60000 rpm. Roughness of the contact surfaces of the shaft, and each of the inserted parts, respectively, shall be within the range from Ra0.8 to Ra0.2. For each of the tanks located in the casing under each of the inserted parts, and/or in each inserted part, which number shall be at least two, the ratio S/So is ensured within the range from 60 to 120, where S is area of oil surface in separate tank at maximum oil volume, that can be included by the separate tank, and So is area of hole near the inserted part or total area of holes near the inserted part.

EFFECT: increased operational life of the bearing and mechanical load per bearing, not resulting in complicated bearing design in comparison with the design of other journal bearings.
